A casino operator is currently in the process of constructing a 4.3 billion-dollar resort on the Las Vegas Strip, and the operator has agreed to pay local artists to create murals for the site. The Resorts World Las Vegas initially requested that artists perform the work for free, but the company has since decided to pay artists for their skills.
Because of the pandemic, we’ve had to make do with mobile and online casinos based in the United Kingdom for the past few months. On the other hand, we are now in a position to consider traveling again this year (subject to certain restrictions) to see the artworks for ourselves.
According to Scott Sibella, President of Resorts World Las Vegas, when the program was first announced, the company did not intend to offend anyone. This was stated by the company’s President.
“We respect and are proud of our arts community,” Sibella said in a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The mural program, according to Sibella, is not intended for guests to view, but rather for the “back of house” hallways where employees will be working.
“We wanted to create a unique opportunity for anyone who has a passion for art to showcase their work with our team members,” he told the newspaper.
Previously, the company stated that they would provide the artists with free project supplies as well as an invitation to the resort’s official opening ceremony. The resort intends to provide high-quality still and moving image content for creatives to use in their portfolios, such as photographs and videos.
Shortly after the program’s details were made public—namely, that the artists involved would not be compensated for their work—an uproar erupted on social media.
The twelve selected artists will now be paid, though the exact amount is unknown at this time. There are also plans in the works for the resort to pay artists to create work that will be displayed to guests, which are still in the planning stages.
The resort was approximately 75% completed at the time this article was written, with the resort’s opening scheduled for the summer of 2021.
Memories of Stardust
A new resort complex called Resorts World Las Vegas is currently being built on the site of the defunct Stardust hotel and casino in Las Vegas’ northwest corner, close to Circus Circus.
The book “Love and Honor in Las Vegas,” written by Nicholas Pileggi, a New York-based crime reporter, was published in 1995. The book introduced Stardust to a much larger audience.
Pileggi’s novel is about a love triangle involving mobster Anthony Spilotro, Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal’s wife, Geri, and Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal. Rosenthal oversaw the operations of the Midwestern crime families at the Stardust and other resorts on the strip.
The film Casino, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci, was based entirely on the book. The screenplay was co-written by Pileggi and Scorsese, who also wrote the book.
The real names of the characters and the resort were used in the book. However, for obvious reasons, these details were changed for the film adaptation.

The Crazy Vegas Online Casino hopes to join the ranks of Las Vegas casinos already known for their outstanding art collections
Many of these art collections are visited by tourists from all over the world. It is an excellent location for attracting new customers through the casino’s front doors. Their first stop after entering the casino will be the gaming floor, where they will try their luck at one of the many available games. The artwork serves as a delicious topping to these already incredible venues for those who are only interested in participating in the casino’s various games.
The casinos listed below have some of the most impressive casino art collections in Las Vegas
Following a costly renovation, the cinema casino has emerged as one of the most prominent venues. This could be because of the extensive art collection acquired during the renovation. The inclusion of works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Richard Prince, and Andy Warhol, among others, demonstrates the collection’s decidedly modern approach. A selection of street artists in the style of Banksy is also included.
A portion of the resort was designed in collaboration with modernist Damien Hirst, who provided the casino with his cutting-edge style and flair. They collaborated to build a portion of the resort. Hirst not only contributed several original works, but he also designed some of the hotel’s most recognizable features, such as the coasters in the bar. He is also in charge of designing what is said to be the world’s most expensive hotel room. The cost per night is $100,000.
It’s the Bellagio
Current CEO Steve Wynn oversaw the construction of a number of other Las Vegas casinos that went on to become extremely profitable before establishing the world-famous Wynn Resorts and casinos. Wynn has been an avid art collector his entire life, and he has established the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, which is currently displaying some of his personal collection. The gallery has hosted exhibitions of works by a wide range of artists over its history, including Picasso, Monet, Warhol, and Titian, among many others. In addition, the gallery has shown works by a variety of other artists.
Even though it is not the largest gallery on the Strip, it is without a doubt one of the most prestigious exhibition spaces. The Bellagio’s exhibits change on a regular basis, and they range from Samurai armor to Faberge jewelry. At the Bellagio, there is something for every art lover.
Aria MGM Resort
The Aria Resort and Casino, which is owned and operated by MGM, is home to the first collection of public art in Las Vegas. The collection includes both newly commissioned works and pre-existing works. These pieces work really well together in the area to create an interesting display for the guests to see.
This exhibition includes works by a number of notable contributors, including sculptors Antony Gormley, Richard Long, and Henry Moore, all of whom are British. The casino has a collection that includes the work of 15 artists; this collection has been carefully curated to attract guests’ attention while also adding historical artifacts to one of the world’s most well-known locations.
Away from Las Vegas
Despite the fact that the Strip is home to some of the world’s most impressive art collections and casinos, there are a number of fantastic cities located outside of the Strip that offer a combination of the exciting casino scene and world-class art. Suzi Cordish, a former Smithsonian board member, oversees the art collection known as the Cordish Art Collection at the Live! Casino and Hotel in Maryland. Both Andy Warhol and Nick Cave contributed original works to this exhibition.
